Agnes
President
My name is Agnes a.k.a Chihera. I was born at a Tea and Coffee Plantation in the eastern highlands of Zimbabwe. Where social classes was defined by the work hierarchies. Places where some of my friends where not allowed to play or visit. When l was 8, l quickly realised that games such as netball had no boundaries. There my passion for netball was born. It connected us as we played 7 by 7, competing against each other yet sharing the same goal to have maximum fun regardless of social class. Netball gave us the freedom, boasted our confidence, networking as well as social skills. Carried the love of the game through into my career until l moved to Sweden.
Upon arriving in Sweden in 2009, sadly l learned that netball was not known which made it difficult for me to continue playing. I struggled to find a group of people to play with, still, l never gave up. In 2018 l found a group of ladies so we played although it was just for a short time and l enjoyed it. Got motivated to continue the search. I received encouragement from my family and friends.
In 2019, l made a resolution that if it means crossing the bridge into Denmark and join Copenhagen so be it. Early in January through Facebook l found out about Stockholm Netball team, got so excited and curious to know about this team. I approached the group and got in touch with Heather. She connected me to Suzy and Micaela. Our passion brought us together and we founded Skåne Netball Club in February 2019 without hesitation.
I am so proud to say, our inextricably intertwined story, Skåne Netball Club is here to stay. It's ours together so come let's play.
